My First Impressions Using the Awesome Habits App

I’m always looking for simple ways to improve my daily routine, so when I found an app called Awesome Habits through SetApp, I knew I had to check it out. SetApp has become my go-to because I get access to a bunch of different Mac programs for a low monthly fee.

I’ve only been using Awesome Habits for about three days, so I am certainly no expert at this this point. I won’t get into the specifics of what I’m tracking just yet; that’s something I’ll dive into in future blog posts. But for now, I want to share what it’s like to get started and how it’s already making the process of habit-tracking easy.

Why Habit Tracking Even Matters

Let’s face it… Most people have tried to set goals that fizzle out after a few weeks. It’s something I fall victim to myself, especially when life happens. What I’ve learned is that progress that sticks comes from small, repeatable habits and not giant, overwhelming goals. Awesome Habits fits perfectly into this philosophy, reminding me each day with gentle reminders that tiny changes can add up when I stick with them.

Simple, Intuitive, and Zero Fuss

One of the first things I noticed about Awesome Habits is how clean and simple the app feels. I didn’t have to create an account (which is a relief for anyone tired of endless logins), and it’s just as easy to use on my iPhone as it is on my Mac. The experience is seamless, and I love that I can quickly update my progress whether I’m at my desk or on the go.

If you’re like me, I am all about the convenience. If it feels like a chore, you can count me out. Awesome Habits nails this, offering just enough customization to keep things fun (like color and icon options for each habit) without bogging you down with clunky menus or confusing features.

What I’m Tracking – And Why

Since I’m just getting started, my focus is on tracking those everyday actions I want to be more mindful about: things like supplement intake, water consumption, and other basics I want to make sure I follow through with each day. And while I won’t get into the weeds on specifics here, I plan to share more about my progress in future posts. My main goal is to use the app as another tool in my “ongoing mission” to get better every day.

Integration With Apple Health (Still on My To-Do List!)

One feature I’m looking forward to exploring next is the app’s integration with Apple Health. Awesome Habits claims it can automatically track health metrics – think steps, sleep, workouts, and more – which sounds like an awesome (pun intended) bonus if you’re already invested in Apple’s health world. I haven’t set that up yet, but once I do, I’ll be sure to report back on how well it works.

Staying On Track, Effortlessly

So, how does the app help me keep my habits going strong? First off, it’s the little motivational nudges – seeing my progress, checking off streaks, and knowing that my routines are actually being counted. Who doesn’t like to check off things as completed? Awesome Habits keeps things positive and low-pressure, which makes it much more likely that I’ll stick with it. If I forget to record something, I can easily go back and add it later (no guilt trips, thankfully!). Looking at my daily stats and browsing my history helps me see how far I’ve come, even when progress feels slow. I am on a three-day streak!

Free to Use, With Extras for Subscribers

The best part is that you can use Awesome Habits for free. There’s also a premium subscription model if you want extra features, but because I found it through SetApp, I already have access to those extras. For anyone who’s on SetApp or willing to try the full premium version, it’s an easy decision.

Looking Forward

I’m excited to see where this habit-tracking journey takes me, and I’ll be sharing updates as I get deeper into the app and figure out what works best for me. For now, if you’re someone who’s interested in making small, meaningful changes, Awesome Habits is a fantastic place to start. Sometimes, all it takes is a simple tool – plus a bit of motivation – to keep you moving in the right direction.

Here’s to getting better every day!
